Kokoda Trek 2012
A group of friends trekking Kokoda to raise funds for Koeabule Primary School and Alotau International School.
June update
This year has certainly gone fast and our group has been busy doing what it can on top of our daily and other tasks. We are pleased to say that $680 has been raised so far. This is a strong effort and our thanks go to a handful of donors from Alice Springs (some have donated up to $100). Thank you emails to donors will be going out soon.
We were fortunate enough at a recent meeting to have a Principal of one of the schools from Alotau join us for a Skype conversation. This was our first 'live' touch base at a meeting and allowed our group to hear of the key aspirations of the school. Efforts are being made to provide active support and we hope to make contact with the other school soon.
At our recent meeting it was also decided that our trip to Kokoda will be planned for 2013. Some of our group members aren't in a position to make the trip this year, and for various reasons. This also gives us more time to consolidate and expand our fundraising and planning efforts. We will keep everyone posted.

We are a group of friends who went to high school together and in Oct 2012 we will be trekking Kokoda to raise funds for Koeabule Primary School and Alotau International School (Milne Bay province).
